CPP Retirement Pension Calculator

Work out your Canada Pension Plan retirement pension from the pensionable earnings you actually had — at 65, or at any age from 60 to 70.

1Who are we calculating for

Your date of birth
CPP counts your earnings from the month you turned 18.
Your partner’s date of birth

2Your pensionable earnings, 10 years at a time

Where to find these: your Statement of Contributions in My Service Canada Account lists your pensionable earnings for every year. Enter that number. If you earned at or above the ceiling in a year, just use the Max button — the result is the same.

3Child-rearing provisions (optional)

If you had low or no earnings while you were the main carer for a child under 7, CPP can protect those years. Add each child’s date of birth, then turn the provisions on.

Assign each child to the parent who received the Family Allowance or Canada Child Benefit for them, or who stayed home as their primary caregiver. Only one parent can claim a given month — the same period can never be counted for both.

Assumptions
Real wage growth after 2026
Everything on this page is in today’s dollars. This setting only controls how fast the earnings ceiling (the YMPE) is assumed to grow ahead of inflation, which is what your future pension is measured against.
Your entries are kept in this browser only, so they are still here next time you open the page. Nothing is ever sent anywhere. “Start over” erases them.

Estimate only This is an educational estimate, not an official one. Service Canada calculates your real pension from the contribution record it holds, which can include credit splitting, disability months, periods under a social security agreement with another country, and time under the Québec Pension Plan — none of which this tool models. Get your official numbers from your My Service Canada Account. Rates, ceilings and formulas follow the Canada Pension Plan as it reads for 2026.
